Cut cloth to the size of the ply leaving enough on the sides to cover it completely.
Mix equal parts of fevicol and water and dip the cloth in it.
Spread the cloth over the board and pull it tight and stick it. It should be free of wrinkles.
Let this dry for a few minutes.
Mix chalk powder, a pinch of yellow oxide, fevicol and water.
Once the board is completely dry, apply this paste on it evenly. Three coats need to be applied. Each coat has to completely dry before the other coat is applied.
Once completely dry, use emery paper to smoothen the board.
The board is now ready for painting.
Trace the sketch on to the board using yellow carbon.
Stick the stones wherever necessary, using fevicol.
MUCK PREPARATION
Add chalk powder and gum Arabic to make a fine paste. It has to be in dosa batter consistency.
Strain it with a fine cloth.
With a brush, apply this mixture evenly in places where relief work needs to be done.
This paste has to be applied even on the stones, covering it entirely.
Let this dry for a day.
RELIEF WORK
Use a damp cloth to wipe out the muck paste on the stones. The stones should now look as if embedded in the paste.
Add chalk powder and gum Arabic to make a fine paste of mehandi consistency.
Make a cone and fill it with the paste.
Start making relief work with this, wherever necessary.
Let this dry for a day.
GOLD FOIL
The gold foil has to be stuck In places where relief work has been done,
Use gum Arabic to stick the foil.
Use a soft cloth to press the foil, so that the relief work impression is formed on the foil.
The stones then can be revealed by scrapping off the foil stuck on the stones.
PAINTING
Using poster colours, paint the picture.
Use Indian ink to accentuate the gold wherever necessary.
